Prizes have always been a fun part of IF events. Rather than give numerical rankings and tiered prizes, we like to do something different: gather interesting, useful, quirky, or funny prizes into a general pool. Authors got to select a prize from the pool in random order until authors or prizes run out. Receiving a ribbon does not change selection order or your chance of getting a prize.
The prizes donated for the 2020 festival were:
- A print or digital copy of the book Adventure Games: Playing the Outsider, donated by the festival organizer
- A lifetime license to articy:draft, the interactive storytelling tool helping writers and narrative designers create and keep track of their storylines and manage all narrative content, donated by Articy Software
- A print + PDF copy of the tabletop roleplaying game Chuubo's Marvelous Wish-Granting Engine by Jenna Moran, donated by Xavid
- An itch.io key to Flux, a cyberpunk "interactive fiction and a series of mini-games that challenge you to type, hack-n-slash, organize or fidget," donated by the developer
- A gift copy of the Conquer COVID-19 HumbleBundle containing over $1000 worth of games and ebooks, donated by Stephen Rose
- A Steam key for Life is Strange Season 1, an episodic graphic adventure game by Dontnod Entertainment, donated by Jason Dyer
- A key for Six Ages from the makers of King of Dragon Pass, for iOS or Steam, donated by developer A Sharp
- A unique print or digital copy of the book Subcutanean, a horror novel where no two copies are the same, donated by the festival organizer
- A Steam key for Tales from the Borderlands, an episodic interactive comedy graphic adventure sci-fi video game (whew) from Telltale Games, donated by Jason Dyer
Many thanks to our generous prize donors for helping support the Spring Thing and providing an extra incentive for our authors!
