General Advice

 

Walkthrough

The Plains

There are several objects in the area that you can cut (e.g. the pole, the cape, the machete). Cut enough of them and the highwayman will run away.


The Valley

(Note: killing the merchants or cutting the caravan will result in a game over.)

Every three turns, a monster will appear. You have three turns to deal with it.

You can simply cut the stone giant.

Wait until the grass snake is solid, then cut it.

To defeat the shadow wisp, cut a skystone.

Note that succeeding at this sequence is entirely optional. You will reach the end even if you fail all three times.


The Pass

Wait until the gunman shoots, then cut the bullet.


The Steppes

There's no need to do anything. The scene will end on its own.


The Wastes

If you try to cut the thief or what she's standing on, she'll change position. You want to cut the tree while she is standing on it.

She can only jump on the tree from the ledge, and she'll only do so if the bedroll isn't available. The easiest way is to simply cut the bedroll, then the ledge, then the tree.

Afterwards, cut the bandana, then the eye.


The Gates

Just cut the gates. There's no need to solve the riddle.

(You can if you want to. You're on your own for that one.)


The Citadel

(Note: cutting the Oracle or the tendrils too early will result in a game over.)

Examine the panel until no more images appear. Then either cut the Oracle or cut the tendrils.


The City

(Note: killing anyone will result in a game over.)

Talk to the street food vendor. He'll ask you to deal with the smoke.

There are three ways to handle the smokesmith. You can summon the guards by cutting the buldings, stalls, or crates three times, then cut either the captain's spear or his helmet. Alternatively, you can cut the purple smoke bubble three times, or you can cut the gold smoke bubble three times while in the presence of the guards.

Afterwards, talk to the food vendor again and they'll direct you to the strange peddler. Examine his wares, then cut the box.


The Forest

Every three turns the wizard will cast one of four spells. You have one turn to deal with each before they disappear.

The arrow of fire can be cut directly.

The tentacles can be defeated by cutting the vines.

The orbs can be defeated by cutting the bushes.

The slime can be defeated by cutting the tree.

After you have dealt with at least three spells, the wizard will trap you in an illusion. Cut the tower to leave.


The Outpost

Cutting anything here will end the encounter.

For example, the obelisk.


The Tower

(Note: cutting the tower from outside will result in a game over.)

Cut the gate to enter the tower.

Once inside, you'll have to deal with a series of sentinels. The first is easy: just cut it.

The second needs to be disabled before you can cut it. You can to do so by cutting its legs twice.

The third is protected by a gem. Cut the gem first, then you can cut its legs.

The fourth is protected by an aura. Cut the floating symbol until it is the same color as the aura, then cut any part of the sentinel.

In the final room, cut the dome. You don't have to cut the Guardian.

Cut the sky.


The Desert

Examine the sword. Drop it.
