If you've
played all the games in Spring Thing 2005, then read the voting rules and
you can vote on the games.
The voting
rules:
- The judging period
will end at midnight EST, May 1, 2005. (Note that you must not only vote,
but also confirm your votes before the deadline.)
- Judges are encouraged
to spend as long as they want on each game, and are encouraged to try to
finish each one. In the end, however, they are not required to finish before
voting (especially if the game takes more than an evening or two to complete).
Nor, for that matter, is there any particular minimum time length that must
be spent on each game.
- Judges must vote on
all six of the games for their votes to be counted (or as many as they can,
depending on what they have beta-tested, and perhaps depending on their computer's
compatibility).
- Anyone who is not an
entrant or the organizer may judge.
- Judges should score
each game on a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being best.
- Judges are allowed
to discuss the games during the judging period, but are requested to clearly
mark posts which discuss the games, for the benefit of those who want to
avoid spoilers and having their scores influenced.
- Beta-testers are not
allowed to vote on the entries they beta-tested.
Further
instructions:
- Use the following form
to rate the titles 1-10 or "beta-tester." You can ignore "author,"
since authors can't vote. You can also ignore "not rated," since
you're required to vote for all the games you didn't beta-test (if you think
I should make an exception for you due to computer incompatibility or something,
send me your ballot by email to springthing@_NOSPAM_charter.net).
- 10 is best, 1 is worst.
You can give as many 10s as you want, as many 1s as you want, etc.
- After you submit a
successful ballot, I will automatically send you a confirmation email that
contains a validation link. Please click on that link or copy and paste it
into your web browser to confirm your votes.
- You must CONFIRM
your votes before 11:59 PM EDT on Sunday, May 1, 2005, regardless of when
you submitted your ballot.
- Some people with DSL
service have had trouble with this page, so if you have trouble, feel free
to email me instead.
- If you have trouble
for any reason, you can submit your ballot by email instead. Write to springthing@_NOSPAM_charter.net.
I may try to do some kind of manual email validation, so you should still
be prepared to confirm your votes before 11:59 PM on May 1.
